NEALS Clinical Trial Capabilities
The NEALS network has over 25 years of experience in developing and conducting multi-center clinical trials in ALS and motor neuron disease. NEALS can help sponsors interested in developing new studies design protocols, assist trials with recruitment and retention, aid in communication and outreach, elect sites, and manage trials.

Our Trained Research Sites
NEALS has over 130 member sites equipped to perform clinical research. With support from a longstanding grant from The ALS Association, NEALS provides all sites with comprehensive training in outcome measures and site management so that NEALS can quickly initiate new trials and produce high quality data. NEALS Affiliated Trials
Partnering with NEALS offers access to ALS trial resources established by the NEALS Consortium. This affiliation with NEALS offers access to mechanisms that can support clinical trials including webinars, trial announcements to sites, site selection assistance, access to NEALS sub-Committees, and recruitment and retention efforts.
NEALS Coordination Centers
Clinical Coordination Center & Data Coordination Center (MGH-NCRI)
The Neurological Clinical Research Institute at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH-NCRI) is a premier Academic Research Organization (ARO) that provides high quality oversight and conduct of multicenter neurological clinical trials. MGH-NCRI is available to serve as the Clinical Coordination Center (CCC) and the Data Coordination Center (DCC) for NEALS affiliated trials. The CCC and DCC are available to provide project management, data management, Electronic Data Capture (EDC) Systems, site selection and management, vendor selection and management, biostatical analyses, quality oversight, budget and contract management services, and regulatory submissions to FDA.
In addition, NCRI employs the use of the Mass General Brigham IRB as a central IRB and utilizes IRB Reliance Agreements and Master Clinical Trial Agreements with all NEALS sites to improve trial efficiency.
